Logbooks : of the Minerva (Snow), 1772-1776.

Volume 1 records the journey of the Minerva as it sailed from Bristol, England, stopping at Cork, Ireland, and the Madeira Islands on its way to Dominica in the Caribbean, then returning to Bristol, 16 November 1772-11 February 1776. Volume 2 documents the Minerva's journey from Bristol to Nevis in the Caribbean, 24 April-17 June 1776. The most significant portion of these logbooks is the artwork; in addition to documenting the marine weather conditions and coordinates, Pocock included daily watercolor drawings of the ship, depicting the weather. Some of the drawings are black-and-white, but many contain color. Pocock also included many full page drawings of the ship and drawings of the horizon and harbors as the Minerva reached land.
